Everyone knows something about Japan. Probably you can find it on a map, maybe you’ve seen a cartoon or played a video game that was made here. You might have tried Japanese food before, or seen a documentary about it once on TV. Occasionally however, luck smiles on someone and they are allowed to live in Japan for a while. I am one such person. Here you will find various things that I have found interesting whilst on my never-ending journey to hone my knowledge of Nihon.
Photographic Credit – Some photos are my own work, but all photos of quality are the work of my favorite photographer leftforjapan, and used with permission.
Comment Policy – I treat comments as “letters to the editor” and gratefully read every single one. However, I only publish those that add meaningfully to the topic. I consider the comment box primarily as a way to contact me, so I ask that you please submit your comments with this in mind, and don’t take offense if I prefer to keep my posts focused. Some older posts may have comments present from before I had to come up with a policy.
Right of Reply – A cornerstone of free speech largely largely missing from our society, but fully present here. If you are the subject of a post, or have had your words criticized as part of a more general post, and wish to have your unedited response published in the same forum as the criticism, please contact me and I will absolutely honor your right to do so.
Ad Policy – I run no ads on this website, but WordPress, who hosts it for free, does. I receive no revenue from those ads, have no control over them, and regret their presence. I receive no income from this blog in any way.
